Chicago in September!

Chicago is a beautiful city. And it was awesome to be there this time around without freezing my ass off:-) Things got crunk in Chicago, and I’ll never forget it. SO great to meet you all there!

Just stumbled across your blog and I think it’s great! I wish you well on your quest to meet 10K people!!! I know the experiences you’ve gained from meeting various people must be incredible. Can’t wait to see the next entry.

My name is Arlan and I’m on a quest to meet 10k people in person as soon as possible! I’m doing it as a social experiment, and it’s changing my life…one person at a time. I wish everyone had the opportunity to do what I’m attempting.

I originally started in 2008, but had to stop after a few months for personal reasons. I’ve longed to start this again, and I feel more than ever that this is the perfect time!

You can see pictures of everyone I meet, updated as often as possible on this site. Pass it on to your friends and let me know if it inspires you to do something similar. Whether it’s 10,000 or 10 people, I hope it inspires you to go out and meet new people.

I’m a 30/female and I live in Los Angeles.

I have a lot of ideas on a daily basis. I dream big. I simply can not help myself. My friends must think of me as some sort of mad scientist always cooking something up in my lab. And just like any good mad scientist, I have to go through a lot of ideas that fail or don’t live up to my expectations in order to find the gems. But when I find them, it’s the most rewarding feeling EVER.

I like to have fun and am what some would describe as “silly.” The sound of laughter is SO addictive to me, I’ll do almost anything to make someone laugh. But I also want to touch people’s lives. I want to inspire people. I want to live every day to the fullest, even when I feel defeated the moment I wake up. We all have those days, right? But then you look around and you realize that you’re alive, and you’d be doing yourself and others a disservice by taking even one minute for granted. So you pull it together and you fight, like you did the day before.
